As many residents are aware, several sidewalks in the neighborhood have been raised by tree root growth and may be a trip hazard. There have already been several reported incidents of people tripping.

Please be reminded that it is your responsibility as the homeowner to fix the sidewalk that surrounds your property.

Should someone be injured because they tripped on your sidewalk, you would be liable.

Please also note that the HOA will continue to issue notices for these sidewalks that are raised more than an inch and deemed a safety hazard. Unaddressed notices will result in HOA fines and possible fines from the township.

If you need to fix your raised sidewalk, here are a few suggested options:

Option #1: Lawrence Township’s Concrete Repair Program (see HERE: https://www.yvmasterassociation.com/post/2019/07/24/residential-concrete-sidewalk-repair-program)

There are only 8 homes currently scheduled to have sidewalks prepared by the township at this point.

Option #2: Contact the township’s contractor directly and make an appointment for a future date (independent of the current township program).

Messercola Excavating-908-561-4243

*Cost is approximately $26/sq foot

Option #3: Find a private contractor to do the work.

**Non-affiliated with the HOA, we are aware of a vendor currently doing work for other Yorkshire Village homeowners - with a negotiated rate of $12/Sq foot for our residents:

Guaranteed Home Improvement, #609-575-0378 - ask for Winston.

If you have any questions, please contact Tricie Kohut of TMK Management at tkohut@tmkmgt.com

We appreciate your attention to this matter!
