Residential Concrete Sidewalk Repair Program

You may have heard - as a homeowner, concrete curb, sidewalk, and driveway aprons in front of your property are your responsibility to maintain and repair or replace. Yes, it's true. And, it currently affects many of our homeowners that are facing the common issue of lifted sidewalks due to mature tree roots (as seen in the photo above). If you are looking at having to repair your concrete, you may be in luck.

Lawrence Township's Engineering Dept. is offering the opportunity to property owners to participate in the Concrete Sidewalk Repair Program. This program enables homeowners to pay for repair at a lower cost than typically on an individual basis - read specifics HERE (PDF copy HERE)

In addition, here is some clarification we were able to get from the Municipal Engineer, Jim Parvese:

*The Township typically takes "orders" (residents' formal requests via the completed form/attachment) in the Spring/early Summer for repair work to be done in the Fall. You may have noticed that the form (linked above) references the sign up date for THIS year as June 1st. Since this date has passed - regardless of the fact that we are just receiving this information in July - it means that anyone interested NOW has a deadline of June 2020 to submit their order to have their concrete repaired in September 2020. Unfortunately, no exceptions at this point.

*If the condition of your sidewalk absolutely cannot wait for repair and needs to be done this year, please contact Jim Parvesse to discuss directly.

*If you sign up for repair next year -- while waiting for repair in the Fall, and you receive a violation because the condition of your concrete worsened, you may address it with the Engineering Dept./Jim Parvesse (handled on a case-by-case basis).
