As we have been communicating, there continues to be areas of lifted sidewalk throughout all of the Yorkshire Village Master Association. This includes both sides of our community which are split by Province Line Road. Maintaining these areas of sidewalk are a homeowner responsibility.
After the recent mailing and email communication on this matter, and after violation notices were received, many of you submitted the application for your areas to be added to the township’s Sidewalk Repair Program that will handle the replacement and direct billing to you via Resolution. We appreciate your response to addressing the matter. However, please be reminded, as detailed on the HOA website and township form (https://www.yvmasterassociation.com/post/2019/07/24/residential-concrete-sidewalk-repair-program)- homeowners who are just submitting the application now (after June 1, 2021) are NOT being added to the township list of areas being done next week. Instead, you are being added to the list for summer/fall of 2022 repairs. Until then, these sidewalks will remain a dangerous risk for trip and fall accidents in which you would still be liable. To expedite the process of eliminating any risks and your exposure to liability, we highly recommend considering hiring your own private contractor to replace the area. Our prior memo included the name of a contractor who has done work in the community over the last few weeks and they appear to be doing a good job: Guaranteed Home Improvement at 609-575-0378 - ask for Winston. Again, they are not HOA affiliated, therefore, you can chose to find your own masonry vendor. This type of repair work is still being done before winter.
In the meantime, homeowner’s who chose to remain on the township’s Sidewalk Repair Program 2022 list AND any other homeowners who will NOT be addressing their areas until next year, MUST proactively safeguard the area by marking all sections pending replacement with a BRIGHTLY PAINTED “X” to alert pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. Additionally, please note that if you have already received a violation notice from us, you will continue to be fined the $25 per week until the areas are replaced and brought to safety compliance. On-going inspections will be done.
**For homeowners who signed up for the Sidewalk Repair Program last year, the Township of Lawrence will be doing their repairs for 2021 during the week of November 29th. If you are on that list, you can reach out to Sue in the Zoning Department for time line updates.
Your time and attention in this are necessary and continue to be appreciated.
